I’m sure if you watch Fox News, you heard about that mosque that’s going up near the site of the 9/11 attacks. A second one is planned near there too. The first mosque mentioned has $100 million appropriated for it with room to grow (as always per business).
Here’s the rub against many of my patriot friends; call it my complete lack of sensitivity, but I don’t really care about a mosque being built near the site of the WTC attacks. Last time I checked, this is America. People should be able to do whatever they want where ever they want as long as it doesn’t interfere with someone else’s right to do the same thing, or spawn domestic terrorism.
The issue I have with this mosque though is the funding. If it was all coming from Muslims in the U.S., but it’s not. It’s coming from Arab and Muslim countries; and according to The New York Post, is a cause for concern. There’s a lot of money from that area being used to fund terrorism, and it wasn’t specified from which particular countries or organizations the money was coming from. This in and of itself can be a cause for concern, as the representative asked would never return calls and cite the need to build bridges of peace between all religions as the only reason this is going up, despite what everyone else says. Needing to build bridges of peace between religions is true; but as long as people exist, there will be fundamental differences between beliefs, actions, and reactions.
Again, I feel the need to state; all religions, ethnicities, just people in general contribute to the true beauty of the human race, Muslims included. All Muslims I know emit an aura of peace, maybe more peace than most Anglo-Americans. Tourist season around here has got me down a little bit, but still; the human race is quite the beautiful creation.
